Meals on Wheels Collin County Seeks 100 Volunteers for Emergency Meals Delivery Day on June 27th

McKINNEY, Texas — Meals on Wheels Collin County (MOWCC) is calling on community members, families, civic groups, and corporate teams to volunteer for its annual Emergency Meals Delivery Day on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The organization is seeking 100 volunteers to help deliver approximately 1,650 emergency meal kits to homebound seniors throughout Collin County. These shelf-stable meal boxes are designed to provide critical nutrition during severe weather, natural disasters, power outages, and other emergencies when regular meal deliveries may be interrupted.

Volunteers will spend just two hours helping ensure local seniors are prepared before an emergency occurs.

“Many of our seniors live alone and rely on Meals on Wheels for daily nutrition and connection,” said Antojuan Spoons Jr., Marketing & Communications Director for Meals on Wheels Collin County. “By volunteering for just a couple of hours, community members can help ensure our neighbors have access to food and peace of mind when unexpected situations arise.”

Emergency meal kits are a vital resource for seniors who may be unable to leave their homes during extreme weather conditions or other emergencies. The annual distribution effort allows Meals on Wheels Collin County to proactively prepare clients before a crisis occurs.
