What are your hours of operation?Our office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-4 pm CST (excluding holidays).

What type of meals are served?MOWCC serves a general health meal that is high in key nutrients, such as protein, fiber, calcium, and Vitamins A & C. Our nourishing meals are designed for older adults to achieve and maintain optimal health. Our kitchen opts to season food with herbs and spices instead of adding salt. We serve a wide variety of meals as each entrée is served only once every 6 weeks.

How many meals are provided?One meal, per day, Monday-Friday.

How do I change my delivery information?We understand sometimes things happen and that's why are here to help. If you ever need to change details for your delivery please feel free to call us at (972) 562-6996.

What other services or programs do you offer in addition to Meals?When you qualify for our Meal Programs we offer other services throughout the year such as: Secret Santa, an annual program that provides gifts around the holidays for our seniors. Aged to Perfection, where we celebrate seniors who are 90 and older on their birthday; Spring and Harvest Boxes are delivered annually; and our Senior Safety Net that provides essential items to our seniors who are homebound and at risk. These items may include pet food, hygiene items, incontinence supplies, nutritional drinks, and durable medical equipment. Your Social Worker will provide you with the details of these services.

How does the volunteer process work?Complete our online volunteer application. Complete a background check which is required for all volunteers. There is a small fee. Attend a training class. Determine the schedule you would like for the volunteer position of your choice. We will provide you with all of the information that you need to fulfill your volunteer assignment!

Is there an age requirement to volunteer?Yes, in the kitchen, age 13 and above can volunteer with an adult. There is no age requirement for children riding with adults. You must be 18 years and older and insured with a valid drivers license for delivery drivers.

I am interested in becoming a volunteer driver what are the requirements?You must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, access to a vehicle, pass a background check (there is a fee of $20.50), attend complete a driver education training class, and you must be 18 years of age or older.

What delivery times are available for volunteer drivers?Meals are delivered Monday – Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. We provide local drop sites for your convenience. Deliveries take no more than an hour to complete.

I am interested in becoming a Kitchen Volunteer, what are the hours that I can serve.Our kitchen hours are Monday-Friday between 8:00 am-12 pm. You can assist with preparing and pack meals daily.

Can my group or organization volunteer?Yes, groups are welcome to volunteer in the kitchen or as drivers.

Do I have to commit to the same schedule each week?No. We will work with your schedule during our standard delivery and kitchen schedule.

I work from 9:00AM – 5:00PM during the week. When can I volunteer?Our meals are prepped and delivered during those times however, we occasionally have weekend opportunities to serve. You can suggest to your employer to get involved with our Corporate Takeover or volunteer as a group. Keep checking out website for upcoming events that may accommodate your schedule.

Can I complete court-ordered community service with Meals on Wheels Collin County?Yes. We are able to accommodate the hours required and provide you with the proper credit upon completion.

What are the eligibility requirements for Home-Based Meal Delivery?In order to be eligible for Meals on Wheels Collin County. Reside in Collin County 60 years or older Under 60 years of age if disabled Primarily homebound Limited in your ability to drive or not driving Unemployed

How do I apply for Home-Delivered Meals?In order to apply for Home-Delivered Meals. You can complete an online application or call (972) 562–6996. Within 48-72 business hours a social worker will contact you to complete an assessment to determine uf you qualify for service.

If I qualify, how long will it take to receive my first meal?You will receive your first meals within one business day.

What is the Congregate Meal Program?The Congregate Meal Program is offered at various Senior Centers in Collin County. We provide one meal daily to seniors and disabled people who are mobile.

What are the eligibility requirements to participate in the Congregate Meal Program?In order to be eligible to participate in the Congregate Meal Program you must be: 60 years or older Under 60, must attend with a spouse who is 60 years of age or older

How do you apply for the Congregate Meal Program?You can apply in person at the Senior Center of your choice that has our program. You can print the application available online and return to the Senior Center or see the program director at the site and he/she will provide you with an application.

When can I expect to receive my first meal after the application process?Congregate applicants are eligible to receive their meals at a participating site within 24 hours of applying.

If I'm not a member, can I still eat at the center?Yes. Meals are separate from membership at McKinney, Frisco, and Wylie

How many meals are provided.One meal is provided every weekday.

When are meals delivered?Congregate meals contact the Community Center you chose for Home Delivered Meals, meals are delivered between 11am-1pm.
