About the Event

This is a Community Call to Action to help ensure homebound seniors have nutritious meals and caring support. Many of the seniors we serve rely on Meals on Wheels Collin County as their only daily meal and only daily point of human contact. Every delivery provides not only food, but also a friendly wellness check that helps keep seniors safe, connected, and seen.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers will pick up pre-packed meals from the distribution point and deliver them to homebound seniors along a randomly assigned delivery route. During each stop, volunteers will offer a warm greeting, provide a brief wellness check, and report any concerns or urgent needs to Meals on Wheels staff.

How will I receive my delivery route?

To help make check-in as quick and efficient as possible, please download the Point app before arriving at the event.

When you arrive, you'll scan a QR code displayed at the check-in area. The QR code will direct you to a short form where you'll enter your name. Once your information is submitted, your personalized delivery route will be automatically generated and assigned to you through the Point app.

To make check-in easy:

• Scan the QR code at the event.

• Enter your name.

• Your delivery route will automatically generate.

• Staff and volunteers will be available with printed QR codes if you need assistance.

This streamlined process helps everyone receive their routes quickly so deliveries can begin on time.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather and closed-toe shoes. Volunteers will also need:

• A reliable vehicle

• A fully charged smartphone

• The Point app downloaded before arrival

• Internet access to receive their assigned route

• A positive attitude and a willingness to make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors
