About the Event

Join Meals on Wheels Collin County for our PINK OUT Emergency Meal Delivery Day, a special community-wide initiative combining breast cancer awareness with our mission to ensure seniors are prepared for upcoming storms and the holiday season.

We're calling on volunteers, staff, and community partners to wear pink and help deliver emergency meal boxes to seniors throughout Collin County.

​

These shelf-stable meals will provide essential nourishment during severe weather, unexpected disruptions to regular meal deliveries, and upcoming holiday closures, helping ensure our seniors have access to food when they need it most.

As we deliver meals, we'll also stand together in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, honoring survivors, supporting those currently battling breast cancer, and remembering those we've lost.

Together, we're preparing our seniors, raising awareness, and delivering more than meals — we're delivering hope, security, and peace of mind! 
 

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers will pick up pre-packed meals from the distribution point and deliver them to homebound seniors along a randomly assigned delivery route. During each stop, volunteers will offer a warm greeting, provide a brief wellness check, and report any concerns or urgent needs to Meals on Wheels staff.

How will I receive my delivery route?

To help make check-in as quick and efficient as possible, please download the Point app before arriving at the event.

When you arrive, you'll scan a QR code displayed at the check-in area. The QR code will direct you to a short form where you'll enter your name. Once your information is submitted, your personalized delivery route will be automatically generated and assigned to you through the Point app.

To make check-in easy:

• Download the Point app before arriving.

• Scan the QR code at the event.

• Enter your name.

• Your delivery route will automatically generate.

• Staff and volunteers will be available with printed QR codes if you need assistance.

This streamlined process helps everyone receive their routes quickly so deliveries can begin on time.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather and closed-toe shoes. Volunteers will also need:

• A reliable vehicle

• A fully charged smartphone

• The Point app downloaded before arrival

• Internet access to receive their assigned route

• A positive attitude and a willingness to make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors
