Has Anyone Dealt with ADAS Recalibration After a Body Repair?

Got my car back from a body shop after a minor fender incident and now I'm wondering if the blind spot sensors and parking assist were properly recalibrated. Has anyone gone through this process? What should I pay attention to before assuming everything is fine?

I went through something similar after a bumper replacement. What surprised me was that modern cars have so many systems tied to the bumper area blind spot monitors, parking sensors, sometimes even radar for collision avoidance and they all need to be recalibrated after any panel or bumper work. A lot of shops do the mechanical repair fine but skip the sensor verification step, which is where things get tricky later on.

What I did was look into what proper ADAS calibration actually involves camera and radar alignment, sensor diagnostics, post-calibration system checks, and making sure everything meets factory specs. I found this link helpful for understanding what should realistically be included in that kind of service. Once I knew what the process was supposed to look like, it was much easier to ask the right questions at the shop.

If they can not explain their recalibration steps clearly or show that they use OEM-level tools, that is usually a sign to look elsewhere. The safety features on newer cars are only useful if they are actually working as intended after a repair.
